Acting: Great!
Music: Good!
Satisfaction: Great!
First off: the story. The plot centers around Ashiya Mizuki, a girl from America that decided to transfer into a boarding school for males. Ashiya's reason for transferring is due to her guilt, she believed that she was responsible for Sano Izumi's inability to perform the high jump. The backbone of the drama deals with Ashiya trying to convince and help Sano jump again, while the rest of the drama is basically just filler. The drama can be comedic at points, but I find that there are way too many "dramatic" pauses where the camera pans in on a characters face for a good 5 minutes or so.
Horikita Maki's role as Ashiya Mizuki didn't disappoint or astound me. Her character didn't really stand out to me, but I believe the script is more to blame than her acting skills.
As for Oguri Shun, I can safely say that I feel that he is not as great of an actor that many people say he is (nor is he attractive). From what I have seen, Oguri tends to play the quiet brooding character, as seen in Hana Yori Dango, as a result, I wasn't impressed by his "quiet and brooding" portrayal of Sano (anyone can be quiet and brooding, it doesn't take much acting skill).
The one highlight of this drama for me was Nakatsu Shuichi, portrayed by Ikuta Toma. Watching his character struggle through thoughts of being potentially homosexual was amsing to say the least. His monologues were hilarious, and his antics saved what I would of deemed a flop.
To sum it up, I felt this drama was overrated. The acting was mediocre, aside from Ikuta Toma. The plot was weak, the drama was mostly carried by it's subplots (which got tedious and repetitive after the 3rd episode). The praises given by the fans of this drama were unwarranted. Perhaps they felt that the twenty something "pretty boys" on screen made up for the lack of a storyline and mediocre acting. Unless you feel that "eye-candy" can make up for everything else (I didn't find the guys too attractive), I suggest you stay away from this drama. It's not that great if you're looking for a laugh, nor is it great if you're looking for romance.
*STORY: Yes, this series wasn't base from its real manga series but its fine with me because even if it wasn't adopted from the original, you will certainly love the series.
*ACTING: I love how the actors and actresses act. It really suit them!!
*MUSIC: Certainly I love the music as well because the songs really suits the drama especially otsuka-sama's, PEACH!
*SATISFACTION: I LOVE IT SO MUCH!TWO THUMBS UP!!!
I loved this J-doroma. It was better than the Manga. This has to be the best J-doroma ever.
The story was generally about a girl disguising herself as a boy in a all-boy school. This drama has a mixture has a mixture of romance, comedy and it has life-value lessons. What I really like about this drama is the friendship between the students of Osaka High... it really touched me. The plotline is really fast moving and no part was boring. All events has a moral value if truly understood.
Acting:
Oguri Shun - As others say, he is not too emo for Sano Izumi's part. He did well as Sano Izumi.
Horikita Maki - Her acting as a boy came out naturally.
Ikuta Toma - This guy really caught my attention. He was splendid~~~~ He really surprised me. I think no one else can be Nakatsu other than Ikuta.
Over all - the male actors really did well.. wearing girl clothes and stuff. All I can say is everyone did their part well.
Music:
The OST of this drama is mostly made up of instrumentals. But the music made the scene complete:) Kayashima Taiki's theme (Is This Spiritual) really helped in his parts.
Satisfaction:
This drama is the BEST. You wont waste your time watching this drama
it heaps funny and stupid while watching it.
Ashiya Mizuki, a Japanese girl from america. who one day persaded sano izumi to do high jump again.
Nakatsu Shuichi is one the most people u wouldn;t stop laughin about lol he has feeling for ashiya mizuki and think he gay so he fighting himself lol
